Yuvraj Singh Ouster signals to other Senior Players

After showing the door to Yuvraj Singh, the selectors have very clearly hinted the other senior statesman MS Dhoni that his fate will also be the same if he doesn’t raise his game.


Neither Dhoni nor Yuvraj has been in his peak form in the recent times, but, the former has been a tad better in comparison to the latter and also a tad fitter.

So the selectors have kept him in the set up, but, only for the time being.

During his interaction to the press after the team selection for the Sri Lanka One Day games, MSK Prasad who chairs the panel of national selectors made it clear that Dhoni’s spot is not guaranteed.

If Dhoni has to remain the first choice to stand behind the sticks for the men in Blues, he will have to produce the goods like he used to do in the past.

Prasad however doesn’t seem to believe that Dhoni is too old for international Cricket. (more…)

Shane Warne confident on Autralia to Win Title this Year

Shane Warne is very confident about Australia becoming the World Champions again.

The reason behind Warne’s confidence is the no. of match winners that the Kangaroos have got.

According to Warne, there have been some very good Australian teams in the past as well, but, none of them had as much firepower as this current lot has.

Australia has already won three World Cups before, more than any other team in the history of the game.

The current edition is taking place in their home conditions. So, it would not be surprising if they take that tally to four in a few weeks’ time.

The presence of the all rounders in the squad is what makes Australia an almost unbeatable team at this point in time. (more…)

Mitchell Starc took dig at Warne

Mitchell Starc yesterday took a dig at Shane Warne for what the Champion leg spinner had said about him during the second test match of the recently finished Border-Gavaskar series.

Starc had bowled some real bad deliveries on the first day of that game there in Brisbane and Warne had slammed him speaking on Channel 9 after the day’s play.

Warne had said that Starc should not have been that soft.

The word ‘soft’ did not go down very well with some of the well wishers of Starc including the Australian coach Darren Lehmann. (more…)
